Roma director: We have not received any offer for Koné
Tony Dittamo, AS Roma's sporting director, has settled the speculation regarding reports linking French midfielder Manu Koné with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Dechamico stated in comments reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano: "Manu Koné was not close to joining Chelsea at all, and no official offer from the club was received."
He added: "There was no need for Gasperini to impose any veto, because nothing happened in the first place. Clubs are making contacts, and we are doing the same, and there is nothing else."
AS Roma's sporting director reiterated the club's stance, stating: "Chelsea have not made any offer."
AS Roma have clearly denied reports of advanced negotiations or an official offer from Chelsea for Manu Koné, confirming that the matter has not gone beyond communications between the clubs.
