Oziello set to leave Inter as Pachein emerges as his successor

Piero Ausilio's journey with Inter is nearing its end as the club's management has decided to halt negotiations for the sporting director's contract renewal and is currently working to amicably terminate the relationship between the two parties.

According to Sky Sports, Ausilio is expected to head to Inter's training center in Appiano Gentile tomorrow to bid farewell to the players, and he will be present on Saturday at San Siro during the match between Inter and SSC Napoli.

Cristiano Giuntoli's current contract was set to run until 2027, while negotiations were ongoing for a one-year extension with an option for an additional season, along with a slight increase in his salary, but the two parties did not reach an agreement.

Giuseppe Marotta had previously proposed extending Giuntoli's contract for three years, aiming to align its duration with that of the coach. However, the club owners decided yesterday, Tuesday, to end renewal negotiations, and the process for mutually terminating the contract is now set to begin.

As for his succession, the internal solution highlighted is Dario Paticchio, Ozilio's deputy for years and one of the leading experts on the club's environment, who is currently the most serious candidate to take over as sporting director.

Piero Ausilio's departure will mark the end of a nearly 28-year career with Inter, having joined the club in 1998 as a youth sector official before moving to work with the first team in the 2009-2010 season, and then taking on the role of sporting director in 2014.

During his time at the club, Giuntoli contributed to building teams that won 25 trophies, the latest being Serie A and Coppa Italia.
