SL Benfica officially announces signing of Moroccan Sofiane Krouni

SL Benfica have secured the signing of Moroccan international Sofiane Alkarwani, after announcing today, Tuesday, that the left-back has joined from Al-Qadisiyah, as part of the club's activities during the current summer transfer window.

The Croatian arrived in the Portuguese capital Lisbon on Monday to complete the final steps related to his transfer, having passed the medical examinations before signing the contracts and officially finalizing the deal.

Under the agreement between the two clubs, the Moroccan full-back will join SL Benfica on loan until the end of the current season, with the Portuguese team retaining the right to purchase his contract permanently for an amount close to 10 million euros, according to the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola."

The Croatian will wear the number 34 shirt with SL Benfica, having been registered in the squad for the Portuguese league, marking the start of a new chapter in his professional career in European football.

The Moroccan international's move to SL Benfica comes after his stint with Al Qadsiah, providing him with a new opportunity to return to European competition and represent one of Portugal's top clubs.
