Yamal: Goals are not lacking at Barcelona, and I am very happy with the team list
Lamine Yamal, the winger for FC Barcelona, spoke about his team's recent win against Rayo Vallecano, alongside the stalled transfer deal for Argentine Julián Alvarez, during the fifth edition of the Spanish Footballers' Association Awards held at Florida Park in the capital, Madrid.
Lamine Yamal has been awarded the Best Player in LaLiga for the 2025/2026 season, after being chosen by his peers in the top-flight clubs, repeating the achievement he made in the previous edition. He also attended as a representative of the Spanish national team, which received the Sports Career Award after winning the FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
After scoring two goals in FC Barcelona's 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano, which were his first goals in LaLiga this season, Lamine Yamal said: "I am very happy to score again with the club of my life, and I am very happy."
He added: "I am also happy to be here, all awards are welcome, especially when they come from an association of football players, as they are the ones who know in the end."
Regarding the stalled transfer of Julián Alvarez to FC Barcelona, and whether he wishes to see him in the team's shirt, a Barcelona star clarified: "We are fine now, and that is clear, we are not lacking in goals, of course he is a great player, but I am very happy with the squad we have."
When asked about the team with the best attacking trio between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Lamine Yamal refused to engage in a direct comparison, simply stating: "We want to win everything, and that is what matters."
