Officially.. Barcelona announces signing of Gabriel Jesus

FC Barcelona has officially announced that they have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, who will become a player for the Catalan team until June 30, 2029.

Gabriel Jesus arrives at Barcelona after a successful career in European football, which began with Manchester City following his transfer from Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras in 2016.

During his time with Manchester City, Gabriel Jesus made 236 appearances, scoring 95 goals and providing 45 assists. He won four Premier League titles, along with the FA Cup, four EFL Cups, and two Community Shields.

In July 2022, the Brazilian forward joined Arsenal, and he has played 123 matches with the team, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists.

Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious injury with a torn cruciate ligament in January 2025, which kept him out of action until December. He then returned and contributed to Arsenal's triumph in the Premier League title for the 2025-2026 season, scoring 3 goals in 14 matches.

On the international stage, Gabriel Jesus started his career with Brazil's youth teams before participating with the senior national team since September 2016.

Gabriel Jesus was part of the Brazil national team that won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. He also participated in the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022, and the Copa América in 2019 and 2021, winning the Copa América 2019 with his national team.

The deal cost the Catalan club's coffers around 10 million euros.
