FC Barcelona nears date for upcoming general assembly
FC Barcelona is close to setting the date for the ordinary general assembly for the 2026/2027 season, likely to be held on Sunday, September 20. The date will be confirmed during the club's regular board meeting scheduled for Thursday.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", the most likely date for the match is September 20, especially since the first team will face Sevilla on Saturday, September 19 in LaLiga.
The board of directors, led by Juan Laporta, has ruled out holding an extraordinary general assembly at the end of August, opting instead to bring forward the date of the ordinary assembly, which is usually held in mid-October.
Members are expected to vote on increasing the credit provided by Goldman Sachs to complete the Espai Barcelona project, which could reach up to €500 million, alongside approving the financial accounts for the 2025/2026 season and the budget for the new season.
The files presented also include the agreement with the Emirati company Ohana Development, which will exploit the FC Barcelona brand through a luxury residential complex for around 10 million euros annually, in addition to extending the sponsorship contract with Spotify.
Members will also need to approve the appointment of Ràfia Yusti, Josep Cubells, Alfons Castro, Josep Ignasi Masia, Àngel Riudavets, Joan Soler, and Cisco Bujol as members of the FC Barcelona board.
