Mac Allister's father clarifies son's position on move to Manchester City
The father of Argentine Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool midfielder, has clarified his son's position regarding a move to Manchester City, after his name was mentioned as a potential option for the City during the summer transfer window.
TEAMtalk has reported that Alexis Mac Allister has been offered to Manchester City by intermediaries, to be a potential replacement for Enzo Fernández, who is the club's primary target, amid Chelsea's insistence on receiving £120 million for his departure.
Fabrizio Romano has explained that intermediaries proposed to Manchester City the possibility of signing Alexis Mac Allister, confirming that no official offer has been made yet, but the player has been put forward as an alternative option in case the deal for Fernández falls through.
However, Carlos Mac Allister, the player's father, has confirmed that his son is not thinking about leaving Liverpool and wants to stay with the team, noting that the club has not yet started negotiations to renew his contract.
Alexis Mac Allister is under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2028, putting the club in a position to decide his future, either by extending his contract or making a decision about selling him before he enters the final period of his contract.
