Manchester United clarify stance on signing Balde
Manchester United have made a decision regarding the signing of Alejandro Balde, the left-back from FC Barcelona, during the final hours of the summer transfer window, after he was one of the options considered to strengthen the left-back position.
TEAMtalk reported that Manchester United were interested in signing Alejandro Balde on loan, with a potential purchase option, but FC Barcelona are insisting on a permanent transfer only.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Alejandro Balde's agent, Jorge Mendes, has informed Manchester United of FC Barcelona's terms, indicating that the Catalan club wants to either sell or retain the player, while Balde prefers to continue with FC Barcelona.
FC Barcelona values Alejandro Balde at around €40 million, while Manchester United considers the deal expensive, making its completion difficult at this time.
Newcastle United's Lewis Hall was Manchester United's primary target for the left-back position, but the club was not willing to negotiate his departure. Manchester United is still looking to sign a left-back before the transfer window closes.
