Atalanta push to sign Jonathan Rowe from Bologna

Sky Sport Italia has revealed that Atalanta and Bologna have renewed communications regarding the signing of English striker Jonathan Rowe, as the club from Bergamo insists on finalizing the deal before the transfer window closes.

Bologna want to keep the player, but he has strongly expressed his desire to leave, prompting Atalanta to intensify their efforts. A new contact is expected in the coming hours between Luca Percassi, the CEO of Atalanta, and his counterpart at Bologna, Claudio Fenucci, with the club ready to raise their offer again.

Ro has not been called up to face Atalanta this evening, a decision explained by Bologna's coach Domenico Tedesco during the press conference, stating: "I haven't seen Ro calm, so I left him at home."

Ro, who is 23 years old, joined Bologna last summer from Olympique Marseille for €17 million. After an initial adjustment period to the atmosphere of Serie A, he scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists in 40 matches across the UEFA Europa League and Serie A, making him a primary target for Atalanta.

In the event of his departure, Bologna have already begun searching for his replacement, considering signing Samuel Mbangula, a former Juventus player currently at SV Werder Bremen, or Albert Gudmundsson, a forward from Fiorentina, with the final decision resting with coach Tedesco on the most suitable player.
