Behind the scenes of the crisis between Yasser Ibrahim and Al Ahly FC
Journalist Hani Hathout reported that there are obstacles in the negotiations to renew Yasser Ibrahim's contract with Al Ahly FC, following the defender's request for financial compensation due to missing out on the Saudi offer presented to him by Al Shabab, which was met with rejection by the club's management.
Yasser Ibrahim has informed Al Ahly FC's management of his respect for their decision to reject the Al Shabab offer, while also requesting compensation of 10 million Egyptian pounds.
Yasser Ibrahim has demanded an annual salary of 35 million Egyptian pounds to agree to a renewal, which exceeds Al Ahly FC's financial offer.
Al Ahly FC are currently preparing to face Smouha SC next Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the third round of the Egyptian League.
