Dortmund's stance on signing Sancho after Konstantelias injury

Despite Jadon Sancho's name being linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund following the injury of new arrival Yanis Konstantinou with a cruciate ligament tear, the path for the English winger's return to Signal Iduna Park is currently cold.

According to the information received, Borussia Dortmund officials Lars Ricken and Ole Pöhl are exploring other options and files to compensate for the absence of Konstantinos Mavropanos. There has been no movement from the club towards Jadon Sancho in recent hours, despite the player currently being available without a club and able to be signed without paying a transfer fee.

Borussia Dortmund's executive director Karsten Kramer spoke on Sky90 about Jadon Sancho's popularity in the city: "There are very few names capable of exciting people in Dortmund like Jadon, and that is simply the reality. It continues throughout the summer."

Kramer added: "Jadon has not made any mistakes, he is an ideal young man. But we are dealing with the matter firmly; we do not comment on any names at all."

Borussia Dortmund have already begun studying the possibility of moving in the transfer market after the injury of Konstantelias was confirmed, looking into options for a permanent signing or a loan before the transfer window closes.

Jadon Sancho has previously played for Borussia Dortmund between 2017 and 2021, and then returned on loan in the second half of the 2023-2024 season, making his name once again a topic of interest among the club's fans. However, there are currently no indications of negotiations or official moves to bring him back.
