Benfica coach addresses speculation over Barreiro's move to Ittihad

Marco Silva, the head coach of SL Benfica, has revealed a new update regarding the possibility of Barreiro's departure to Ittihad during the current summer transfer window, amid anticipation over the player's future.

SL Benfica's coach explained during the press conference that Barreiro's departure in the coming days cannot be ruled out completely, emphasizing that he does not have clear information regarding the player's future.

Silva has stated: "I cannot confirm 100% that Barreiro will not leave SL Benfica in the coming days, and I do not have information on this matter."

Al Ittihad's management are aiming to finalize the deal for Barreiro during the summer transfer window, based on the wishes of German coach Jens Wissing, who wants to strengthen the squad with new players.

SL Benfica are holding out for a suitable financial return to part ways with the player, setting a fee of €18 million for his departure, according to the 'A Bola' network.
