Zed Issues Official Statement Protesting Referee's Decisions in Al Ahly Match

ZED FC has issued an official statement objecting to the decisions made by referee Mohamed Maarouf during the match against Al Ahly, which took place last Friday as part of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly achieved a victory over ZED with a clean sheet of 2-0 last Friday at Cairo International Stadium in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The statement read as follows:

"ZFC confirms its complete respect for the Egyptian football system in all its elements and components, especially the Egyptian refereeing system, which we hold in high regard. We also reaffirm our full confidence in Egyptian referees and their ability to manage matches with integrity and professionalism."

He added: "At the same time, driven by the club's commitment to upholding the values of justice and transparency, we strongly object to several impactful referee decisions witnessed in the match between ZFC and Al Ahly that took place yesterday, which, in our view, had a significant and direct effect on the course of the match and its final result."

The club stated: "This objection comes as part of the club's right to express its position regarding decisions that it believes significantly affected the course of the match, without in any way diminishing our full respect for the referees or the Egyptian refereeing system or any elements of the football system."

ZFC confirms that it will remain committed to all its positions in the spirit of sportsmanship and professionalism, respecting all clubs, players, coaching staff, referees, and all elements of the game. At the same time, it insists on its full right to object and demand the application of the highest standards of justice and neutrality to preserve the rights of all clubs and enhance the credibility of the competition. This is something we have made sure to document and send officially to the Football Association through its official channels for action.
