Argentinian Julian Alvarez returned to Atletico Madrid training today, Sunday, after missing the last four days of practice due to a discomfort that kept him away from the team.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Alvarez has accepted that his desire to move to Barcelona will not be realized in the near future, returning to group training with Atletico Madrid just two days before the summer transfer window closes.

Alvarez had rejected a move to Arsenal, with Atletico Madrid presenting the player with two options: either continue with the team or accept Arsenal's offer, after the club confirmed it was not willing to negotiate with Barcelona.

The report indicated that Atletico Madrid was not affected on the sporting level by the absence of Alvarez during their first three matches, as the team scored seven goals in three games without any contribution from the Argentine striker, who played only a few minutes against Villarreal without showcasing the required level.

Diego Simeone confirmed before the match against Sevilla that the club wishes to bring Alvarez back into the fold, stating that the player is going through a personal phase, and the club will try to assist him and benefit from his potential, stressing that he is a fantastic player.

Matteo Alemany, Atletico Madrid's director of professional football, stated before the Sevilla match that the club's plan is clear. He explained that Alvarez had not been feeling well in recent days, but he trained and is expected to return quickly to the team, making him available for the upcoming match against Athletic Bilbao.

With Alvarez returning to training, it seems the player is set to continue his journey with Atletico Madrid for the time being, as a transfer to Barcelona is not on the cards in the near future.
