Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca has confirmed that Olympique Lyon is facing financial pressures that will force the club to sell several players before the transfer window closes. This statement comes after the team drew 1-1 against Le Havre in the second round of Ligue 1.

Paulo Fonseca stated: "We have a necessity to sell players, that is the truth. We are also working on bringing in other players to help the team, but everyone knows the difficulty of the situation and the necessity of sales."

The Portuguese coach specifically spoke about the future of winger Malek Fofana, who is considered one of the team's most valuable assets available for sale, confirming that his future remains open, despite his desire to keep him.

This crisis comes after Lyon's failure to qualify for the Champions League following their exit against Fenerbahçe in the qualifying round, which deprived the club of significant financial revenues, forcing them to achieve around €50 million from player sales before the end of the transfer window.
