Alvarez Set to Stay at Atletico Madrid
As the summer transfer window approaches its deadline, it seems Julian Alvarez has started to reconsider the idea of continuing with Atletico Madrid, after his move to Barcelona during this transfer period has become almost impossible.
The Argentine forward resumed individual training on Saturday morning at Atletico Madrid's training ground, after undergoing a special fitness program over the past two days, coinciding with his teammates' travel to Seville in preparation for their La Liga match against Sevilla.
Alvarez's return to training comes after he missed the team's sessions on Wednesday and Thursday due to a health emergency. This move indicates that he is close to returning to normal training with the group under coach Diego Simeone during the next session, which is initially scheduled for Sunday.
Despite Alvarez's return not definitively settling his future, it indicates that the option of moving to the Premier League is not highly favored by the player, even with interest from Arsenal and Manchester City ahead of the transfer window closing.
Alvarez continues to maintain that Barcelona is the only club he wishes to join, while rejecting the idea of returning to the Premier League. This makes his continued stay at Atlético Madrid the most likely scenario for now, unless a sudden change occurs in the coming days.
As the curtain falls on the Alvarez saga, Atletico Madrid is gearing up to fully reintegrate their striker into Simeone's plans, should he remain with the team. The club views the Argentine star as one of its key assets, while his future remains open until the final moments of the transfer window.
