Gignac Denies Resignation Rumors from Marseille
Bruno Genesio, the coach of Olympique Marseille, has denied any intention to resign from his position, despite the significant difficulties the club is facing during the summer transfer window.
Bruno Guion stated during the press conference ahead of the match against Monaco, scheduled for Sunday in the second round of Ligue 1: "At the moment, there is nothing new regarding a potential resignation."
The French coach acknowledged that he did not anticipate the situation reaching this level, especially with Marseille not making any new signings until August 29, alongside the departure of several players and the potential loss of other key elements.
Bruno Guion explained that losing the best players without the ability to replace them makes leading the project more difficult, but he emphasized his responsibility and commitment to the club, his players, and his coaching staff.
He added that a comprehensive assessment will be conducted after the transfer window closes to determine the team's strength and achievable goals for the season, while also confirming that he is currently focused 100% on the upcoming match against Monaco.
