Liverpool Manager Explains Draw Against Nottingham

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola addressed the media after the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest in the second round of the Premier League at Anfield.

Iraola stated in a press conference: "We were poor in the first half, but we improved a lot in the second half. We managed to come back twice, but I think our performance in the first half prevented us from winning in the end."

He added: "We were largely negative when we didn't have the ball, allowing them to pass easily. The two goals came from throw-ins, and we didn't defend properly, and the overall feeling is that we were defensively negative."

Liverpool's coach stated: "In the second half, we became more aggressive and played with greater intensity, which helped us attack better. I hope this match serves as a lesson for us in the future."

Eiraola praised striker Victor Munoz, stating: "Victor had a very good match, both defensively and offensively, and he was a constant threat to the opponent."

He concluded about the penalty awarded against Alisson: "The situation had already ended when the contact occurred, and it wasn't a violent contact. But we also complained about the substitutions issue, as we had to wait about three minutes due to a problem with the substitution board, and we wanted to make the changes during the previous two or three stoppages before the goal. This wasn't the only reason, but everything ultimately affects the outcome."
