Fabregas Ahead of Napoli Clash: We Want to Focus on the League
Cesc Fabregas, the head coach of Como, spoke about the upcoming clash against Napoli in the second round of Serie A, confirming that his team's focus is entirely on the match, despite the historic atmosphere surrounding the club after qualifying for the Champions League.
Fabregas stated: "The Champions League draw was a special moment for us, for the fans and for the whole city, but I prefer to turn the page quickly and not talk about it too much. The most important thing for us now is the league. Any opponent we would have faced in the Champions League would have posed a big challenge, and we want to enjoy that experience and grow, but Napoli is more important to us right now."
Regarding the match against Napoli, the Spanish coach stressed the importance of approaching the game with great focus, given the strength and experience of the opponent. He confirmed that his team aims to deliver their best and continue developing throughout the season, especially as Como embarks on the season with high ambitions.
Fabregas touched on his relationship with Maximiliano Allegri, Napoli's coach, following the events that brought them together last season, saying: "If I acted incorrectly, I apologize. I have great respect for Allegri, and I hope to achieve even 20% of what he has accomplished in his career. He is a very smart coach, and you can already see some of his influence in Napoli."
Cesc Fabregas has provided the latest updates on the transfer market, confirming that the deal for Samuele Ricci is very close to being finalized, stating that the player is "almost a Como player," as they await the completion of the final procedures.
