Shock Announcement: Al-Ittihad Clarifies Karim Benzema's Return
Hamed Al-Balawi, the former CEO of Al-Ittihad, has clarified the situation regarding French striker Karim Benzema and the possibility of his return to the club, putting an end to the speculation surrounding the future of the Al-Hilal forward.
Al-Ittihad president revealed during statements to the program "Saudi Sports" that Karim Benzema's return to the club is not on the table at the moment, neither from the player's side nor the club's management.
The former executive director stated that the French striker is not welcoming the idea of returning to the Union, noting that the club is also not considering bringing him back in the near future.
Al-Balawi confirmed that he has clear information regarding the positions of both parties, stating that Karim Benzema does not wish to repeat his experience with Al-Ittihad, while the management has no desire to bring him back.
Karim Benzema arrived in the Saudi league during the summer of 2023, following the end of his journey with Spanish giants Real Madrid, to join Al-Ittihad and embark on a new experience in Saudi stadiums.
The French forward wore the Ittihad shirt before changing his destination within the Roshan League, later moving to Al Hilal, amid ongoing speculation regarding his future with the club.
With the statements from the president, it seems that the scenario of Karim Benzema returning to Al-Ittihad has become unlikely, given the lack of mutual desire between the player and the club to reopen this matter.
