Official: Suso Retires from Football

Cádiz has announced that it has reached an agreement with its former captain Jesús Joaquín Fernández, known as Suso, for him to take on the role of institutional representative of the club starting in October. This comes after Suso's retirement from football at the age of 32.

According to the club's official website, Suso, who has been the captain of the first team until now, will take on a new role at Cádiz, becoming one of the faces representing the club, its emblem, and colors in the upcoming phase.

Suso is one of Cadiz's own, having grown up as a player in the club's ranks before embarking on a distinguished professional career, marked by numerous milestones and successes over the years.

The player had put in a tremendous personal effort last season to return to the club where he started as a player, but the circumstances of the past year did not allow him to fulfill his dream of leading Cádiz back to play in La Liga.

Cádiz FC has expressed its great appreciation for Suso's dedication and generosity towards the club, affirming that his move to an institutional role represents an important step for both the present and the future.

The former Spanish star played for several clubs, most notably Liverpool, Almería, Genoa, Milan, and Sevilla.
