Aquilani: I Believe in Youth, Esposito Can Play in Multiple Positions
Alberto Aquilani, the head coach of Sassuolo, spoke about his team's preparations for the match against Torino, confirming that the squad has welcomed back several players during recent training sessions. However, he noted that Walukiewicz remains sidelined due to injury.
Aquilani stated: "We have regained several players, as Edzisis and Berardi have trained, while Walukiewicz is still unavailable. Having these players with us is very positive news."
The new coach needs to convince the players of his ideas through results, but good performances can give the team confidence even in matches that end in defeat. He expressed great confidence in Libani and his desire to develop his level.
Regarding the upcoming match against Torino, Aquilani confirmed that his team is expecting a strong game, stating: "I spoke about courage and humility, which are qualities I saw against Atalanta, and now we need to add awareness to achieve the result. In Bergamo, we made mistakes in both penalty areas that cost us the match, but if you shoot 22 times against Atalanta, you won't lose in the long run."
The coach emphasized his trust in the young players, confirming that mistakes are a natural part of the growth process, and that the club accepted this when it decided to rely on a youthful team.
Sassuolo's coach spoke about Sebastiano Esposito, stating: "Esposito and Pinamonti are different strikers. For me, Sebastiano can do everything, and he can play as a number 9 or a number 10. He is a player who understands the game and football well, and I want to see him as a striker according to his characteristics; he can also play alongside Bou, but we need to wait and assess the situation."
Regarding potential changes in the defense, Aquilani said: "Edzic had a full week of training, and Obrador is in good shape and has also trained. The situation is similar to what it was last week, with the addition of players who have returned to training."
