Official: Leganés Signs Álvaro Morata

Leganés has announced that it has reached an agreement with Como to acquire Spanish striker Alvaro Morata, who is 33 years old, on a one-season loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Leganés has announced on its official website that Álvaro Morata, captain of the Spain national team for the UEFA Euro 2024, will join the team's training immediately under coach Rubén Albés, and will wear the number 21 shirt.

Morata has played more than 600 matches and scored over 200 goals throughout his professional career, along with more than 20 titles, including the UEFA European Championship and the UEFA Nations League with Spain, as well as two Champions League titles and La Liga championships.

Morata began his career with Real Madrid in 2010, before playing for Juventus, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Milan, and Galatasaray. His latest stint was with Como, where he helped the team qualify for the Champions League.

On the international stage, Morata has played 87 matches for the Spanish national team, scoring 37 goals, placing him fourth on the all-time scoring list for the team. He also won the UEFA Nations League in 2023 and the UEFA European Championship in 2024.
