Manchester United Eye Move for Chelsea Defender
Manchester United has been presented with an opportunity to sign Tosin Aderibigbe, the Chelsea defender, in the closing days of the summer transfer window, as the team aims to strengthen its defense.
According to "talkSPORT", Aderabioyo did not participate in Chelsea's 3-2 victory over Fulham, and the arrival of Maxence Lacroix, who fits the three-defender system preferred by Xabi Alonso, could reduce the 28-year-old defender's chances of playing.
Manchester United is seeking to bolster their center-back position, alongside their search for a left-back, following a rocky start to the season with a loss to Hull City. Ben Jacobs has clarified that the club is keen to add a new defender before the transfer window closes.
Aderabioyo is among a group of Chelsea defenders put up for sale, having featured in just 16 Premier League matches last season due to hamstring and calf issues.
Manchester United is also keeping an eye on Josh Achiampong, but Chelsea considers him a vital element in Alonso's future plans. Meanwhile, Taylor Harwood, a defender from Southampton, is another option for the English club.
Manchester United has signed Youri Tielemans, Andre Santos, and Carlos Baleba this summer, but their activity in the transfer market is expected to accelerate in the coming days.
