Marquinhos Wins Prestigious UEFA Award

Brazilian defender Marquinhos, captain of Paris Saint-Germain, has been awarded the "UEFA Respect: Beyond the Game" award in its first edition, during the ongoing Champions League draw held in Monaco.

The award is part of UEFA's 'Respect' campaign, honoring initiatives and stances that embody the values of kindness, dignity, solidarity, and compassion both within and outside of football.

Marquinhos did not attend the draw ceremony, where Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, accepted the award on behalf of the Brazilian team captain. The player expressed his happiness at receiving this award in a video clip that was shown.

Marquinhos is the first player in history to win this award, in recognition of his stances that reflect human values and sportsmanship, beyond results and titles on the pitch.
