Marisca: Promisingly Ready, Doku Out for Crystal Palace Clash

Enzo Marisca, Manchester City’s manager, confirmed that his entire focus is currently on the clash with Crystal Palace, dismissing any distractions from potential movements in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Manchester City visits Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday evening at 10:00 PM Mecca time, seeking to secure another victory after their 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the opening round.

With the possibility of new signings or player departures before the transfer window closes at 1:00 AM Mecca time on Wednesday, September 2, Mariska stressed that facing Palace is his priority.

The Italian coach stated during the press conference ahead of the match: "We are in the final days of the transfer market, with four or five days left and anything can happen."

He added: "We will see what happens. For me, it's complicated to think about the transfer market while we are waiting for a match in 24 hours; so all my focus is on the game."

He explained: "Facing Palace at their ground is always complicated; the stadium is tough, and they have a good team with a new coach."

He added: "You can clearly see what they want to do through their preparations and the first round; it’s similar to what it was like under their former coach Oliver Glasner. There’s no doubt it will be a tough match."

Bouadji has stated, "I am ready to participate in the upcoming match." In contrast, Doku will be absent due to injury.

Mariska revealed the status of his players ahead of the match, confirming that Jeremy Doku will miss the game, while Matheus Nunes has not yet reached full fitness.

In contrast, Moroccan Ayoub Bouaddi will be available for participation, alongside Elliot Anderson, after it was revealed that the injury he sustained during the victory over Bournemouth was merely a minor muscle strain.

Mark Guéhi will revisit his memories with Crystal Palace when he returns to Selhurst Park for the first time since leaving the club, after Mariska provided an additional option in midfield following his impressive display in the defensive midfield role against Bournemouth.

Regarding the possibility of relying on him in the same position against Palace, Mariska said: "We will see, he is one of the options available."
