Brentford Close to Securing Malyk Dziouff for £40 Million

Brentford has reached a verbal agreement with West Ham United for the transfer of Senegalese full-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, in a deal that could total £40 million.

According to BBC's Nizar Kinsella and Simon Stone, the base value of the deal is £35 million, along with £5 million in add-ons, while West Ham has accepted the offer and allowed the player to undergo medical tests ahead of his transfer.

Brentford had made their guests their primary defensive target during the current transfer window, before negotiations stalled earlier. However, they have picked up momentum in recent days, with the player now on the verge of joining the club.

Diouf is set to make a return to the Premier League following West Ham's relegation to the Championship last season. The Senegalese defender delivered an impressive performance throughout the last season, featuring in 34 matches for the team and providing 5 assists.
