Al-Zawraa has officially announced the signing of their former star Hassan Abdul Karim "Quqiya" on loan from Turkish club Çorumspor for one season. Fans have described the deal as the "return of the prodigal son."

Qaqa's return comes after a very brief professional stint that lasted no more than 42 days, bringing one of the most prominent playmakers in Iraqi football back to the domestic league.

Hassan Abdul Karim bid farewell to Al-Zawraa fans at the end of last season following the 2-1 loss to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the league.

At that time, Qoqia decided not to renew his contract and to pursue a professional experience abroad, signing with Çorumspor, one of the clubs in the Turkish league.

Kouki's experience in Turkey was short-lived. He sat on the bench for the first two rounds of the Turkish league against Galatasaray and Kasımpaşa, failing to get any playing minutes.

Sources close to the player confirmed that the decision to return was due to not receiving the right opportunity to participate, and his desire to play regularly and regain his form, leading him to rejoin the "Nawaris."

Hassan Abdul Karim is 27 years old and is considered one of the standout stars of Al-Zawraa during his recent time with the team.

During his years with the "Nightingales", Coccia was the architect of the midfield, the one with the final touch and vision that made a difference in many matches.

His return now represents a significant morale and technical boost for the team, especially since Al-Zawraa is struggling with cohesion due to 90% of the players being new this season, according to club president Haidar Shanshul.

Al-Zawraa's president Haidar Shanshul previously disclosed that the player made substantial concessions to return, as he signed with the club "for half the contract that the Turkish club was offering."

Shanshul stated: "Hassan has never fallen short for Al-Zawraa, and he is a significant addition for us both on and off the pitch."

Without a doubt, Quqiya will be the strong addition that Al-Zawraa is looking for.

The team that started the season with two setbacks before achieving a significant 4-0 victory over Naft Maysan now aspires to compete strongly for the Iraqi Premier League title with the return of "Quqia".

Zawraa fans welcomed the news with great joy on social media, considering Hassan Abdul Karim's return as a "reconciliation" between the management and the supporters, marking the beginning of a new phase focused on competing for titles.
