Sunderland Makes Move to Loan Jack Grealish from Manchester City

Sunderland has entered the race to sign Englishman Jack Grealish, having submitted an offer to Manchester City for his services on loan for the current season, with the option to make the deal permanent next summer.

Jack Grealish is 30 years old and spent last season on loan at Everton before returning to Manchester City this summer. He came on as a substitute in the team's first two matches, against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Bournemouth in the Premier League, in which City won 2-1.

The Athletic reported that Manchester City is open to the departure of Jack Grealish, whether on loan or through a permanent sale, due to his diminished role within the team. The player suffered a stress fracture in his foot last January, which cut his season with Everton short, as he made 22 appearances, scoring two goals and providing six assists.

Jack Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 for £100 million, and since then he has played 159 matches for the team. He was a key player in City's historic treble-winning squad during the 2022-2023 season, but he started only 10 league matches in the following season, and just seven as a starter in the 2024-2025 season.
