Monaco in Talks to Sign Pape Sarr on Loan
Monaco has entered negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur regarding the loan of Senegalese player Pape Sarr during the current summer transfer window.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Monaco has made inquiries regarding the potential signing of Sarr, after the French club sought information about the player's situation and the possibility of his departure from Tottenham.
Romano explained that Monaco has reached out to the player's camp to discuss the club's project and salary, with the possibility of completing a one-season loan deal.
Pape Matar Sarr, 23, has not been able to deliver the expected level at Tottenham, while competition in midfield has increased following the club's signings of Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes.
Reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur may seek to include an option or obligation to buy in their agreement with Monaco regarding Sarr's potential departure.
Tottenham has spent nearly £300 million during the current transfer window, with Cristian Romero and Lucas Vuchkovich departing. It seems that Sar is also a candidate to leave before the transfer market closes.
