Shocking Clause in Benzema's Contract Makes Saudi Exit Difficult

Reports have revealed an intriguing clause in Karim Benzema's contract with Al-Hilal that may make his exit from Saudi Arabia more complicated than it appears, despite rumors linking the French striker with a potential departure from the club during this period.

According to media reports, if Benzema decides to leave Saudi Arabia permanently and move to a club outside the kingdom, he will have to forfeit substantial financial entitlements linked to his contract, amounting to over 330 million Saudi Riyals.

If he wishes to continue in Saudi Arabia, the options appear different. He could reach an agreement with Al Hilal to terminate his contract by mutual consent and move to another Saudi club, which means that the clause does not prevent him from changing clubs within the kingdom, but it makes leaving Saudi Arabia extremely costly.

Karim Benzema transferred to Al-Hilal from Al-Ittihad in February 2026, signing a contract that runs until June 2027, after ending his association with the Jeddah club.
