Riyad Mahrez in Demand from Al-Shabab and Al-Ettifaq
Al Shabab and Al Ettifaq have entered into serious negotiations to secure the signing of Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, in an effort to keep the player within the Roshan Saudi League after he became a free agent following the end of his stint with Al Ahli.
According to Asharq Al-Awsat, negotiations are currently focused on Mahrez receiving an annual salary of $10 million, equivalent to approximately 37.5 million Saudi Riyals, while both clubs work to reach a suitable financial agreement to finalize the transfer during the current transfer window.
Al-Shabab hopes to finalize the deal in its favor, convinced that Mahrez's experience and attacking abilities will provide a strong addition to the team. Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq is also striving to win the services of the Algerian player, looking to benefit from his extensive experience in European and Saudi leagues.
Riyad Mahrez spent three seasons with Al Ahli before his contract with the club ended this summer, leaving his future open to several options. The possibility of continuing in the Saudi league remains strong.
