Al Nassr Stuns Al Ettifaq with Ten Men
Al Nassr turned around a deficit against Al Ettifaq to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory in the match held on Tuesday evening at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, as part of the third round of the Roshn League.
Al-Ettifaq opened the scoring in the 31st minute, with Ondrej Duda finding the back of the net against Al-Nassr. Alvaro Medran then doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 45+4 minute.
Al Nassr suffered an early blow with the red card shown to defender Pinto in the 12th minute, forcing the team to continue the match with ten players. However, they did not give up despite the challenging task against the home side.
Sadio Mane brought Al Nassr back into the game in the 74th minute, before Abdul Ilah Al Amri equalized just three minutes later, bringing the match back to square one.
Sadio Mané stole the spotlight once again in stoppage time, scoring the winning goal for Al Nassr in the 90+1 minute, as the team completed a thrilling comeback despite being down to ten men.
Al Nassr raised its points tally to 9, maintaining its lead in the Saudi Pro League, while Al Ettifaq's points remain at 6, temporarily keeping them in second place.
Al Nassr proved its ability to handle tough situations, turning a two-goal deficit and playing with a man down into a valuable victory, continuing its perfect start to the new season.
