Atletico Madrid's Stance on Alvarez: No Sale to Barcelona

Atletico's insistence on keeping Alvarez is primarily for sporting reasons, as the club considers him one of the most important elements of coach Diego Simeone's project, especially after bolstering the team with several new signings. Simeone believes that competing for titles requires retaining top strikers, and Alvarez is seen as one of the team's most significant attacking weapons.

Atletico Madrid does not wish to sell one of its most important stars to a direct competitor in La Liga, especially Barcelona, given the ongoing rivalry between the two clubs for domestic and continental titles. For this reason, the club prefers to consider any potential offers from outside Spain should its stance on the player's departure change.
