Basem Qassem: We Aim for Victory Against Naft Maysan

Al-Zawraa is set to host Naft Maysan tomorrow, Tuesday, at their home ground, in the third round of the Iraqi Premier League, in a match where the "Nawaris" are looking for their first victory of the season.

Al-Zawraa's head coach, Basim Qasim, held a brief conference ahead of the match. He stated:

"Our preparations have been intense over the past two days. We lost important points in the last two rounds and cannot afford to drop any more, especially as we play at home in front of our fans."

He added: "The Al-Zawraa fans are expected to show strong support for the team, which gives us an added responsibility. We talked to the players about the need to close spaces against Naft Maysan and to take advantage of the opportunities that will come our way."

Qassem stated: "The return of some players and the completion of the squad has given us more options, and we want to see the true character of Al-Zawraa on the pitch tomorrow."

Al-Zawraa's midfielder Hussein Falah said:

"Everyone knows our situation, we started the league below expectations. But we have closed the chapter on the past and are focusing only on tomorrow's match."

He added: "We promise the fans that we will fight for every ball to make them happy. We need their support because the home advantage and the crowd will be decisive in the match."

He concluded: "The quality of the names in the team and the factor of experience must be translated on the pitch. Our goal is clear: to achieve victory and the three points only."
