Sami Al-Trabelsi Comments Ahead of Golan Clash
Al-Shorta's head coach Sami Al-Trabelsi and player Abbas Fadel held a press conference today at the club's conference hall to discuss the preparations of the "Green Lyre" for their match against Al-Jawlan tomorrow, Tuesday, in the third round of the Iraqi Premier League.
Traboulsi began by emphasizing that the team has been working diligently since the start of the season: "The team's preparations are ongoing, not just for this match, but for the entire league competition."
The Tunisian coach revealed some good news for Al-Shorta fans: "What has made us happy is the return of some injured players, which has given the team a morale boost ahead of tomorrow's match."
The coach is referring to the return of midfield duo Mimi and Atiba, who missed the last two rounds, and they will be a strong addition in the midfield against Jolan.
The coach discussed the mistakes that plagued the team in the Karbala and Karma matches, stating: "The recurring errors in both defensive and offensive lines have been corrected during training sessions."
The coaching staff has focused in recent days on the mental side of the players in order to break free from the cycle of draws and losses, and to return strongly to compete for the league title as well as prepare for the AFC Champions League.
Police player Abbas Fadel spoke confidently about the upcoming clash: "Our preparations are good for tomorrow's match, we have closed the chapter on the last game, and we promise the coaching staff and fans a positive result in tomorrow's match."
Fadel did not forget to apologize to the fans after the recent defeat against Al-Karma 2-1: "We apologize to the fans of the Green Lyre following the last defeat."
The coach reassured the fans: "The league is still in its early stages, and we aim to get back on the winning track starting with the next match, God willing."
Police FC will enter tomorrow's match at Al-Jawlan Stadium in Anbar at 6:45 PM Baghdad time, looking for their first win of the season after a draw with Karbala and a loss to Al-Karma.
