Raúl Asensio, Real Madrid's defender, is facing a last-ditch effort to avoid undergoing surgery after overcoming a muscular issue that sidelined him from the team this season. However, the injury has re-emerged in the same leg, this time affecting the shinbone.

According to Spanish newspaper "Marca", Asensio has been struggling with a leg bone problem since last season, and it has not healed as anticipated, prompting him to start a new treatment. He has completed several sessions at Valdebebas aimed at alleviating pressure on the affected area and aiding recovery.

The problem dates back to the final stages of last season, when Asensio decided to continue playing despite his struggles, as Real Madrid needed defenders due to a spate of injuries. The player then underwent limited intervention treatment to remove abnormal cells from the scar area in his shin.

The source explained that the area had developed a bone mass that did not heal correctly, which could have weakened the bone and turned the crack into a fracture. Therefore, the medical team chose a treatment that allows him to continue participating and avoid immediate surgery.

During the summer, the plan focused on rest and recovery, allowing the leg bone ample time to regenerate, but Asensio's condition has deteriorated again. The problem may have been exacerbated by a quadriceps muscle injury in the same leg, which forced him to adjust his training loads during the preparation period.

Marco Asensio is now making a final attempt to avoid surgery, having started treatment at Valdebebas aimed at relieving pressure on the injured area. If he does not respond to the treatment, he will undergo surgery and be sidelined for about two months, a significant blow for Real Madrid at the start of the season.
