Flick: I'll talk to Deco about signing a striker, we need to improve some things

Hans Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, spoke about the impressive 5-0 victory over Elche, expressing his satisfaction with his team's performance, while acknowledging that there are some areas that need improvement.

Hansi Flick praised the level of performance shown by Barcelona, while also addressing several issues, including the possibility of signing a new striker, Gavi's condition following his injury, and Alejandro Balde's situation.

Flick commented on the match: "At the beginning, we needed to control the ball more, and that’s what I want from the team. We managed to keep a clean sheet and score five goals. I love the way Elche plays football."

He continued his remarks about Balde: "I didn't tell him to leave, there is something regarding him, and I see that. I spoke with him this morning, and I have this feeling, it's best that he clarifies his thoughts, and we will talk tomorrow."

Regarding Gavi, he said: "It's the knee, and we have to wait. His condition is better than I expected after the moment of injury. We will conduct an MRI."

Regarding the signing of a striker, he clarified: "We will talk after the match, I am speaking with Deco and we will see what we can do, let's see what happens next week, we are happy to score five goals, and this gives us confidence for the upcoming matches."

Discussing the team's level in the second half, he stated: "I saw a lot of quality in training, the most important thing is the improvement in training, and if you have that quality, you can show it in matches. We played as a team, we attacked and defended together, we can deliver a better performance, but there are many things we did very well."

Regarding Chavi Espart's participation at left-back: "He played with the under-19 team, he's in good shape, and his level is very good. I love seeing a player from the La Masia academy performing wonderfully again. It doesn't matter if he plays on the right or left or in midfield, he's a fantastic player."

Speaking about Raphinha, he said: "He has a great mentality; when you see that he gives 100% in training, it's fantastic. He is a good example and has great intensity."
