Ruud van Nistelrooy Joins Xavi's Coaching Staff for Netherlands
The Netherlands Football Federation has announced the completion of the new coaching staff for the national team, led by Spanish coach Xavi Hernandez. Former Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy will be part of the team as an assistant coach.
Ruud van Nistelrooy continues in his role after being part of the coaching staff for the Netherlands national team during the 2026 World Cup under Ronald Koeman, as he continues to work with the 'Oranje' under Xavi.
The coaching staff also includes Adel Ramzi, Sergio Allegri, and Oscar Hernandez, brother of Xavi. Patrick Ludwig is in charge of the goalkeepers, while Ivan Torres takes on the role of physical performance coach.
Van Nistelrooy has previous experience with the Dutch national team, along with his coaching stints at PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, and Leicester City, making him one of the most experienced names in the new staff.
