Alvarez Leaves Atletico Madrid Stadium Without Acknowledging Fans

Argentinian Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid's striker, left the Metropolitano Stadium immediately after the end of his team's match against Villarreal, which ended in a 2-2 draw, without heading to the fans to greet them, in a scene that upset a number of supporters.

According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Alvarez faced jeers and chants from Atletico Madrid fans during the match due to his stance and desire to leave the club for a move to Barcelona.

After the end of the match, Alvarez remained on the pitch as several teammates approached to embrace him. One of the Villarreal players requested his shirt, while he exchanged a few words with a team official.

However, when it was time for Atletico Madrid players to head towards the fans to greet them, Alvarez left the pitch heading to the dressing room, prompting the crowd to boo him.

The Spanish newspaper reported that Alvarez's exit was not a personal decision, but rather a recommendation from Atletico Madrid's management, aimed at avoiding further problems with fans following the charged atmosphere witnessed during the match.

The source added that Alvarez spoke briefly with the club's media chief, Juanjo Anaut, before heading to the dressing room looking sad, after being conveyed a message from the club aimed at protecting him from fan backlash.
