Harry Kane Wins Best Player Award in Germany

English striker Harry Kane, forward for Bayern Munich, has been crowned Germany's Best Player for 2026 after topping the vote among members of the German Sports Journalists Association, as announced by Kicker magazine today, Sunday.

His Bayern Munich teammate, Michael Olise, finished in second place, while Kane became the first English player in history to win this award after an outstanding season with the Bavarian team.

Harry Kane scored 61 goals for Bayern Munich in all competitions last season, leading the team to win the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The England forward scored 6 goals in the World Cup, helping the team finish in fourth place.

Vincent Kompany has been awarded the Best Coach in Germany, while Giulia Gwin, captain of Bayern Munich's women's team, has been crowned Best Player.

Kane's triumph enhances his prospects in the race for the Ballon d'Or, which is set to be announced in London this October.
