Al-Shorta Regains Strikers Ahead of Upcoming Golan Clash

Sources within Al-Shorta have revealed that attacking duo Mohanad Ali and Lionel Atiba are ready to participate in the upcoming match against Golani, as part of the third round of the Iraqi Premier League.

This comes after the players missed the first two rounds of the season, which clearly affected the scoring ability of the Green Lute.

Al-Shorta played their first round against Karbala and the second round against Al-Karma without the services of their key forwards, due to their physical and technical unpreparedness.

The two matches resulted in a draw and a loss, leaving the team with only one point from a possible six.

Sami Al-Trabelsi, the head coach, expressed his dissatisfaction with the results, pointing out that some individual mistakes, along with the absence of key players, have cost the team valuable points at the start of the journey.

According to sources, both Mohannad Ali and Cameroon’s Lionel Atiba have completed their rehabilitation program and are 100% ready to be included in the squad for the match against Al-Jawlan.

The return of the duo gives Tripoli varied attacking options, especially since the team has suffered from a clear scoring drought in the last two matches.

Mohannad Ali, who recently returned to Al-Shorta from Dibba Al-Fujairah, represents a valuable asset for the coaching staff with his experience and known scoring ability.

Atiba is heavily relied upon in the depth of the attack due to his ability to move and make a difference inside the penalty area.

Tarablsi has taken responsibility for the recent negative results, but he stressed the importance of correcting mistakes quickly before the gap with the leading teams widens.

In previous statements, he said: "Police is a great team and losing is part of the game, but we must learn from the lesson. We have outstanding players and we need to be sharper in front of goal and more focused defensively."
