Borussia Dortmund Close to Securing Hector Fort Deal
Borussia Dortmund is close to finalizing the signing of Hector Fort, the Barcelona full-back, during the current transfer window, after the player expressed his willingness to join the German club.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that representatives from Borussia Dortmund have arrived in Barcelona to negotiate the final details of the deal and determine its financial structure, as the Catalan club aims to secure more than €10 million in guaranteed fees.
Barcelona is trying to retain a percentage of the resale value of Fort in the future, alongside the possibility of including a buy option for the Catalan club. Meanwhile, the club is looking to receive an amount between €15 and €20 million for the player, whose contract runs until 2029.
Fort, 20, is nearing a departure after falling out of favor with Hans Flick, who has chosen Barcelona's Chavi Espart as a right-back alternative.
Fort has played 30 matches for Barcelona's first team since his debut in December 2023. He was loaned to Elche last season, where he featured in 17 matches before suffering a shoulder dislocation that sidelined him for four months.
If the deal goes through, Fort will join Borussia Dortmund to work under Niko Kovac, who previously worked with Hans Flick. Meanwhile, Barcelona will retain the option to benefit from the player in the future, depending on the terms that may be included in the deal.
