Kompany: We Won't Relax, We'll Fight to Win Every Trophy
Belgian Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich's coach, expressed his happiness at his team's victory over Borussia Dortmund and their triumph in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, emphasizing that the team showed a strong desire to fight and compete for everything in the new season.
Kompany praised the physical condition of his players, despite several of them undergoing a short preparation period, particularly highlighting Michael Olise and Kane.
Bayern's coach stated, "I am very happy with the victory. Michael Olise and Harry Kane have trained with us only three times, and we managed to play 90 minutes."
Kompany made a humorous comparison between the past and present: "In my days, you would come back from vacation with an extra 3 or 4 kilograms, but now players have personal trainers and return in very good physical condition."
The Belgian coach also spoke about the elements that could give the team an additional boost during the season, confirming that some players have not yet returned to the squad.
He explained: "Nini Brown and Ismail Sabari will give us a significant boost this season. We still have the returns of Leni, Jamal, and Gnabry to look forward to."
Kompany stressed that the victory against Dortmund was not just a result, but carried a clear message about the team's character and ambitions, stating: "Regardless of today's match result, it was a clear message in terms of energy and fighting for every ball and every situation."
Bayern Munich's coach has sent a strong message to competitors, asserting that last season's trophy haul will not cause the team to regress or feel satisfied.
He stated: "Some may think we will take a step back because we won everything last season, but that won't happen. We won't rest on our laurels, and we will do everything we can to win it all."
