Bayern Munich secured a top-of-the-table clash against hosts Borussia Dortmund with a 2-1 victory, winning the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Cup in a match held at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday evening, with an attendance of 81,365 fans.

The Bavarian team established its superiority from the first half, managing to score two goals that gave them a comfortable lead before the break.

The first goal came from Nathaniel Brown, who found the net against Dortmund with a left-footed shot, benefiting from an assist provided by Frenchman Michael Olise.

Bayern Munich didn't stop there, as Olysee himself doubled the score with a left-footed shot, giving his team a two-goal lead by the end of the first half.

In the second half, Dortmund tried to get back into the game and succeeded in narrowing the gap through Fabio Silva, who capitalized on a counter-attack to score the first goal for the hosts, following an assist from Daniel Svensson.

Despite Dortmund's pressure and repeated attempts to equalize, Bayern Munich managed to maintain their lead until the final whistle, securing a valuable victory and clinching the title.

The match witnessed several changes from both teams, with Moroccan international Rami Ben Sabaini sent off with a red card following a strong challenge. Meanwhile, Luis Diaz received a yellow card for protesting one of the referee's decisions.

With this victory, Bayern Munich has added the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Cup to its trophy cabinet under the guidance of coach Vincent Kompany, after defeating Borussia Dortmund, managed by Niko Kovac, in the clash between the giants of German football.
