Ayoub Bouaddi's Move to Manchester City in Jeopardy
Ayoub Bouaddi's transfer from Lille to Manchester City is now in jeopardy, as the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement on the financial terms of the deal during the current summer transfer window.
David Ornstein from The Athletic has revealed the latest updates on the negotiations between Manchester City and Lille, confirming that the English club has not yet agreed to the amount requested by the French team for the transfer of the Moroccan player.
David Ornstein stated in remarks to TNT: "Manchester City has not yet reached the price Lille is asking for. Of course, they have made a significant effort and they may succeed in completing the deal, but so far it hasn't happened yet."
These developments indicate that a gap remains between Lille's demands and the offer made by the English club, leaving Bouadid's future hanging in the balance until a satisfactory agreement is reached for all parties.
Enzo Fernandez has been identified as a backup option for several clubs looking to strengthen their midfield.
David Ornstein also touched on the possibility of Manchester City turning to another option should the Bouadoui deal falter, namely Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea.
The journalist clarified that Manchester City is indeed interested in signing a Chelsea star, but the completion of the deal will remain contingent on the London club's approval of suitable financial terms.
He said: "They really want him, and it's possible, but the Blues will only sell if the terms are right for them."
He added that the deadline set by Chelsea earlier has expired, which may impact the required value to part with the player, stating: "I don't think it will be the same price now as it was before the deadline."
Ayoub Boumediène remains in anticipation of new developments regarding his future, as Manchester City continues its efforts to finalize the transfer. However, the ongoing negotiation stalemate may prompt the English club to explore alternative options.
