Moroccan duo Achraf Dari and Reda Slim have returned to training with Al Ahly after being officially registered in the team's roster for the upcoming season. However, the pair has not been considered by the coaching staff for the match against Eastern Company in the opening of the Egyptian Premier League.

The return of Dari and Rida Slim to the team's atmosphere had given the impression that they might appear in the first match, but the coaching staff decided to exclude them from the matchday squad for technical reasons, according to the club's director of football, Wael Gomaa.

The exclusion of the players comes despite their official registration in Al Ahly's squad, at a time when the duo was close to leaving the club during the current summer transfer window.

The future of Dari and Rida Slim remains open, despite their registration and return to training. The option for one or both of them to leave is still on the table in the upcoming period, whether it be a transfer to one of the national league clubs that have shown interest in their services, primarily Wydad Casablanca and Royal Army, or embarking on an experience in the Libyan league, where the transfer window is still open.

The return of Moroccan players strengthens the presence of Moroccans within Al Ahly, which currently includes Achraf Dari, Reda Slim, Achraf Bencharki, and Youssef Belaïli, alongside Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta. However, Belaïli is absent from the team due to an injury sustained during the preparation period.

Al Ahly returned to Cairo on Thursday morning after coming back from Spain, where they concluded their pre-season camp for the new season. The camp included a match against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy, which ended with the Catalan team winning 2-1.

Al Ahly is set to open their campaign in the Egyptian League against Eastern Company tomorrow, Sunday, at Cairo International Stadium. Meanwhile, the futures of Dary and Reda Selim remain under scrutiny, despite both players continuing to be part of the squad.
