Aramco Seeks to Host Saudi Super Cup
Saudi Aramco has submitted an official request to the Saudi Football Federation to host the 2026 Saudi Super Cup matches in the city of Khobar, coinciding with the opening of the new Aramco stadium.
The request includes holding the championship competitions in November, coinciding with the final preparations for the new stadium, which is nearing completion and set to host major sporting events.
Previous reports indicated that Aramco Stadium could host the Saudi Super Cup, with excitement surrounding the opening of the new facility, which represents a significant addition to the sports infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has scheduled the semi-final matches for November 30 and December 1, 2026, while the final will take place on December 4.
The tournament includes four clubs: Al Nassr, Al Ahli, Al Qadsiah, and Al Khulood. Al Nassr participates as the champion of the Roshan League, Al Ahli is the third-placed team in the competition, Al Qadsiah finished fourth, and Al Khulood is the runner-up of the King Abdulaziz Cup.
The Aramco Stadium in Khobar is part of new sports projects, with a seating capacity of around 47,000 spectators, and is expected to be fully ready by next October.
The stadium features a cooling system and modern technologies, while the complex surrounding it spans nearly 800,000 square meters, combining sports use with recreational activities.
Qadsia Stadium is expected to host matches for Qadsia, along with major events and tournaments, including fixtures from the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, as part of the Kingdom's plans to develop sports facilities in preparation for future commitments.
