Atalanta Signs Elif Elmas on Loan from Leipzig

Atalanta has officially announced the signing of Macedonian midfielder Elif Elmas on loan from RB Leipzig, with an option to buy.

Elmas returns to Serie A after previous experiences with Napoli and Torino, where he won the Serie A title with Napoli in the 2022-2023 season, along with the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

Elmas is 26 years old and has extensive experience, having played 361 matches at the club level, including 189 matches in Serie A. He also scored 6 goals during 36 matches in the season Napoli clinched the league title.

The player joined RB Leipzig in January 2024, before returning to Italy on loan, where he played with Torino and then Napoli. He finished last season with the southern team, making 44 appearances and winning the Italian Super Cup.

On the international stage, Elmas has played 79 matches with the North Macedonia national team, scoring 10 goals. He also participated in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament held in 2021.
