Genoa Still Keen on Signing Stephan El Shaarawy
Genoa is still interested in signing Italian forward Stephan El Shaarawy during the current transfer window, in a free transfer deal following his departure from Roma.
Genoa's interest stems from the club's desire to bring the player back to the place where he started his football career, having progressed through the team's academy and made his Serie A debut with them.
Stephan El Shaarawy became a free agent at the end of June after his contract with Roma expired and no agreement was reached for its renewal. He is now available to clubs without the need to pay a transfer fee.
Reports indicate that Genoa continues to explore the possibility of completing the transfer, while the player's salary represents the main obstacle to his return to the club where he began his professional career.
Stephan Shaarawy has significant experience in Serie A, having represented Genoa, Milan, and Roma, along with a brief stint at Monaco. This makes him an appealing option for Genoa to strengthen their squad with an experienced player.
